CAMPUS GIMMICKS

 By Ignatious Isigi
They are always seen as the best in society; with every father or mother advising their sons or daughters to follow the example of so and so. Every youth struggles to copy their mannerisms once they alight in the village. They even go ahead boasting as the crème de la crème’s of the society.

They are always consulted for technical and technological advice : are trusted with affairs no matter how secretive they are. Nobody talks negative about them. Villagers flock their homes for assistance in filling their papers-they are the only ones sure of the instructions inscribed on those papers.

Who has ever wondered how they survive all through the years to earn their degrees? The campus gimmicks will take you through all the ways campus students use to keep themselves in session throughout their learning time. Keep in touch  with the campus gimmicks every weekday from 22nd February 2016.

1.ENTREPRENEURSHIP
It has been defined as the process of creating something new with value by devoting the necessary time and effort, assuming the accompanying financial psychic and social risk and receiving the resulting rewards of monitoring ,personal satisfaction and independence.

Indeed, Campus students are the best entrepreneurs with the large number of students in session providing a readily available market. The multiple adverts on the walls like ‘NGUMU AT HOSTEL H,MAYAI AT 12 BOB………………..and many others are used to persuade and inform their customers.

Moreover, the entrepreneurs risk missing classes at the expense of getting that extra shilling from a foolscap customer, exploiting a customer’s three shillings after buying an egg at 12 bob or going to the various ngumu points to order more ngumus when the demand is high.

The Green book rule that no illegal business or trade should be conducted in the university halls of residence falls on deaf ears. When apprehended, all they have to do is sweet talk the security men and bribe them.
They use all adjectives to differentiate their products from those in the shops such as ëxtra large ngumus, ngumu soft ,clear and ink free photocopy etc. Truly huge profits are attained at the end of the day.
